Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter series, is turning 30 today.
The actress has already stated on her Instagram that yesterday she was happy being “a care-free 20-something”. But the ‘dreaded’ day is here and she is now turning 30! Which isn’t a bad thing, at all.
Evanna made her first appearance as Luna in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where she was introduced by Hermione as “Loony Lovegood”. David Yates, who directed the film, said that they auditioned several girls for the part who could’ve been Luna but Evanna “was” Luna. It probably helped that Evanna was a huge Harry Potter fan, which was one of the reasons she wanted to audition for the part as she already knew Luna inside and out.
Evanna now uses her platform to speak out about animal welfare, mental health and being vegan / eco-friendly. She is also releasing her own book called ‘The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting’ which will be available from 14th October.
